Paddock and Purl Studio knitting classes and workshops are perfect for absolute beginners and progressing knitters alike. Book a one on one session, or bring a friend to lower the per person cost while still enjoying personalised attention. After each session, you'll receive a follow up email summarising everything we covered, complete with direct links to helpful guides and video tutorials so you can keep knitting with confidence at home. The listed classes are just the starting point. Enjoy total flexibility, book individual sessions weekly, monthly, or as needed.

Introduction

Grow Your Row

Ongoing mentoring guides you through a curated progression of projects covering essential techniques like short rows, raglan shaping, double knitting, finishes like Italian bind off and cast on.

The Little Scarf        

Knit your first project, a cosy scarf. Our session will cover reading and following a pattern, abbreviations used, identifying and practicing the techniques used in the project and starting your project.

Knit Doctor

When a mistake feels too tricky to tackle alone or a pattern too hard to read, call The Knit Doctor. Together, we’ll work it out and rescue your project, while you build up your confidence.

Knitting 101                   

Let's start knitting with six essentials: cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and cast off. Learn and gain confidence with the building blocks of knitting so you can start your first project.

Skill Booster                

Learn and gain confidence with a new technique. I can guide you through German Short Rows, Italian cast on and bindoff, colourwork, lace, cables, brioche, double knitting, or simply help you decode a challenging pattern.

Tips to streamline your setup, learn about yarn weights, get the most from Ravelry. Discover the equipment that's essential versus what can wait. Plus, you’ll receive a curated directory of my favourite online resources.

Beyond The Scarf      

Knit a slipover in 5 sessions! Learn about yarns, gauge and top down construction from cast on to shaping the neck, picking up for shoulders, joining in the round, and picking up ribbed bands to finish.

Fearless Knitting

Drop the panic and pick up the skills to fix your knitting mistakes with confidence. Learn the essential rescue techniques, including tinking, frogging, placing lifelines, and using duplicate stitch. Knit without fear.

Professional Wash and Block $25

I use Euclan, the finest wool wash to soak your knit, then shape it on blocking boards for a truly professional finish.
